Greg Bell
À propos de Greg
Dans ses motsGreg’s lifelong goal of becoming a chiropractor is literal in every sense — his inspiration began on day one of his life.
Born with a condition called Torticolis or wry neck, Greg’s parents performed specific stretches and movements in his tiny neck during the first several weeks of his life to successfully even out the muscle tension. At age 16, he experienced the full process of rehabilitation post knee surgery to resolve an injury he suffered playing rep hockey. Greg was determined to return to his active lifestyle after the surgery, and in the midst of it all became motivated to help others find success in their own rehab.
Greg graduated from McMaster University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. During university he worked as a personal trainer at the campus gym and played for the McMaster Marauders football team, where he was recognized as a Marauder Scholar for achieving high academic standing whilst a varsity athlete. His science brain had connected well with his love for physical fitness, setting the stage for his future in chiropractics with a niche in fitness- and sports-related treatments.
Greg graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2010. Through his chiropractic education, he continued to work as a personal trainer specifically with individuals who have pre-existing injuries. Learning how unique health concerns can impact a person’s ability to live and keep active gave Greg a great understanding of individualized care. His goal was to help his clients find success in the gym despite pain and dysfunction.
Greg works with his patients to identify the cause(s) of acute and chronic types of injuries, reduce and eliminate pain or restrictive dysfunction through a series of tailored treatments, and strategize to improve overall health. Greg currently uses a combination of manual techniques (including spinal adjustments), modalities (such as shockwave therapy and muscle stimulation), exercise, stretching, self-care and prevention advice. His treatments focus on strengthening and resolving issues within the myofascial system (the muscles and connective tissue that stabilize the spine, support our movements and allow us to effectively perform our day-to-day activities).
As a certified Graston provider, Greg is able to further resolve pain as a result of myofascial restrictions with the use of stainless steel instruments. Greg treats patients with repetitive strain injuries (often due to regular computer use), athletes who experience sports-specific injuries and common injuries that accompany the aging population.
In the 21st century, a common challenge has risen: Keeping active in a world that due to technology has rendered the workplace to be mostly sedentary. Greg strives to successfully find ways for his patients to find this healthy balance, and live pain free.
