Hareesma Amutha Venkatesan
À propos de Hareesma
Dans ses motsYou may be feeling nervous about starting therapy, that’s completely okay. My goal is to offer you a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported. I’ll listen to your story without judgment, follow your pace, and gently challenge you when it's helpful. In the comfortable environment we create together, no topic is off-limits.
I don’t believe in changing people. True change comes from within. What I do is help you imagine new possibilities beyond overwhelm, self-doubt and feeling stuck. Together, we’ll uncover what’s been getting in the way and explore small, meaningful steps toward the life you want to lead.
I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, motherhood, and major life transitions. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices.
As a first-generation immigrant, I understand the complexities that come with navigating multiple cultures, identities, and expectations. That lived experience deeply informs my work and allows me to hold space for clients facing similar challenges, especially those managing generational pressures, cultural disconnection, or the silent weight of trying to “do it all.”
I also offer therapy in Tamil and welcome clients from all backgrounds. If it matters to you, it matters in our work together.
“To be human is to need others, and this is no flaw or weakness.”
— Dr. Sue Johnson
If you’re curious about starting therapy or wondering if we’re the right fit, I welcome you to book a session or a free 15-minute consultation.
