Harkamal Sangha, RCC
À propos de Harkamal
Dans ses motsHello and welcome. My name is Harkamal Sangha (he/him). I identify as a cisgender, able-bodied male and a first-generation settler of South Asian descent, living and working on the unceded and ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. Over the past 15 years, I’ve supported individuals and couples in both public health and private practice settings. My clinical experience includes working with people navigating challenges related to substance use ,behavioral addictions, depression, anxiety, grief and the effects of PTSD.
My approach is trauma-informed, strength-based, and rooted in anti-oppressive and socially just practice. I draw on evidence-based therapies such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy. I also integrate body-oriented approaches to healing trauma, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Somatic Experiencing (SE).
I have a deep commitment to working with individuals facing systemic barriers such as racism, poverty, housing insecurity, and gender-based discrimination. These experiences shape my practice and reinforce the importance of offering culturally responsive, collaborative, and respectful care.
In addition to individual therapy, I also work with couples to navigate relationship challenges and deepen emotional connection. I am trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Levels 1 and 2) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
I believe healing is relational. Many of our wounds are created in the context of relationships—and so too can our healing emerge through the experience of relational safety.
I currently offer in-person, virtual, and telephone counselling sessions. I also provide a free 25-minute consultation to help us determine whether working together feels like a good fit.
Thank you for considering me. I look forward to connecting with you.
