Hiroko has been practising as a Registered Massage Therapist since 2011. She values building strong therapeutic relationships with her patients, believing that feeling heard and understood is an important part of effective care and positive outcome. Through clear, collaborative communication, she tailors each treatment to the individual and their concerns. Her treatments may incorporate myofascial release, stretching, Swedish massage, deep tissue techniques, Graston Technique, and manual lymphatic drainage when appropriate. She also enjoys sharing practical knowledge to help patients better understand and manage their health.
Hiroko has experience treating a wide variety of orthopedic conditions, as well as TMJ dysfunction, headaches, and injuries related to motor vehicle accidents. She also values the role of massage therapy in reducing stress and supporting nervous system regulation.
Born and raised in Japan and polished in Canada, Hiroko has spent much of her life observing and integrating two cultures. Outside the clinic, you'll likely find her reading in coffee shops, cycling around the seawall, exploring Vancouver's trails on casual hikes, or continuing to train her small rescue dog, Owen—who has done an excellent job training her instead.
