Jacqueline Peters
À propos de Jacqueline
Dans ses motsJacqueline is a Registered Psychotherapist who supports clients experiencing chronic anxiety, relational trauma, PTSD, and emotional regulation. Jacqueline also supports parents in the perinatal/postpartum period as well as parents who need support with their own emotional regulation. Jacqueline has professional experience in supporting families who have an individual with a disability or who have medically complex care needs.
Jacqueline's approach to therapy is rooted in the values of authenticity, collaboration, and compassion. Jacqueline uses an integrative approach blending narrative therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and somatic therapy. Clients are supported within a trauma-informed framework, allowing her to understand you through curiosity rather than judgement. Jacqueline works in collaboration with her clients to set and adjust therapy goals, determining the therapeutic styles used and the pacing of the sessions and therapy work. Checking-in with you for feedback about the process of the therapy is always a priority.
Jacqueline offers couples counselling with a focus on couples looking to strengthen their relationship in the postpartum period and beyond. Additional focuses include navigating challenges related to extended family (in-laws), addressing communication challenges, attachment styles, and improving conflict resolution skills. Jacqueline also has experience supporting the nuances of families where one or more members has a disability or complex medical care.
When she's not in her role as a therapist, Jacqueline spends time trying to practice what she preaches through creating as much joy in life as she can. A great weekend includes a balance of quality time with family and friends, and intentional rest – baking, yoga, reading, and of course the occasional Netflix binge. Jacqueline's favourite self-regulation tool is music; she loves almost all genres and decades of music. Jacqueline is big on humour and authenticity is her most important value.
