Dans ses motsJamie is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology degree from Yorkville University and an undergraduate degree in Recreation Therapy with a minor in Psychology. Prior to that, she was Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) for five years.
Jamie has experience supporting children, youth, and adults and understands that each person's experiences, strengths, and challenges are unique. She believes that effective therapy begins with developing a personalized approach that reflects each client's individual needs, goals, and values.
Jamie takes a holistic view of wellbeing, recognizing that emotional, physical, social, and cultural factors all play an important role in a person's overall health. She believes that clients are the experts in their own lives and strives to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and compassion.
Her practice is grounded in person-centred, trauma-informed, and multicultural approaches. Jamie is committed to providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to navigate challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful change.
Jamie's primary therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She has training and experience working with clients who live with ADHD. Jamie is dedicated to lifelong learning and continues to expand her therapeutic toolkit through ongoing professional development, allowing her to thoughtfully adapt her approach to meet the diverse needs of the individuals and families she serves.
Jamie enjoys crafting, photography, and cooking. She also enjoys yoga and scenic hikes with her puppies and spouse.
