Jessica Schroter
À propos de Jessica
Dans ses motsJessica is a Registered Social Worker, who currently offers therapy to individuals and couples.
Jessica completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree at the University of Toronto where she specialized in Gerontology. She is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (RSW).
Her clinical interests includes aging, caregiver support, traumatic injury recovery (acquired brain injury including concussion and post-traumatic stress), grief and loss and the provision of bereavement counselling, emotional regulation, depression and anxiety, stress management, and addressing compulsive behaviour and unhealthy coping patterns (substance use including food addiction, disordered eating and compulsive shopping and spending).
Jessica’s approach is grounded in compassion and curiosity, offering a relaxed and conversational space where clients can feel heard and supported—without judgment.
Therapy should be a safe and collaborative process, where therapist and client can explore what’s working, what’s not, and where you (the client) would like to go. Whether you come to therapy with a clear focus or aren’t quite sure where to begin, Jessica will work with you to find a starting point that feels manageable.
Her practice draws on a range of evidence-based modalities tailored to each client's needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), attachment theory, and Internal Family Systems (IFS, Parts Work).
At its core, therapy is about understanding why we do what we do, identifying the places we feel stuck, and creating space for growth and change.
