I offer counselling to children and youth ages 6 to 18, young adults, parents and families. I enjoy exploring creative and dynamic approaches to counselling, including expression through art, physical activity and play, and mindfulness. My approach to counselling is influenced by family systems theory, attachment theory, trauma-informed practice, and client-centered practices. I view the client-counsellor relationship as a partnership with the pillars of this partnership including trust, honesty, compassion, and humour.
I am experienced in working alongside children, youth and their families who are facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, mood, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, interpersonal relationships, emotion regulation and behaviour. I have formal training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), and Narrative Therapy.
