À propos de Jora
Dans ses motsWhile completing a Bachelor of Science at Saint Mary’s University with a major in biology Jora became fascinated with human body mechanics and anatomy. This education along side of her work with animals at both the SPCA & Hope for Wildlife led her to pursue a career in rehabilitation for the human animal. She graduated from Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy on the honour roll in 2015.
Since then she has actively sot out as much continuing education as she could fit into her schedule: TMJ mastery, pelvic health, rapid release, nerve flossing, visceral release, cupping, hot/cold stones, ashiatsu, thai massage and yoga teacher training. Jora has also learned a multidisciplinary approach is highly effective though dealing with her own pain and dysfunction such as chronic lower back pain. She is passionate about massage and education on movement and self care to help her patients maintain optimal health.
When not working Jora can be found seeking adventure out and about with her young son and dog soaking up all Nova Scotia has to offer.

Massage
« Therapeutic & restorative hands-on registered massage therapy.
Cost is variable per therapist. »5 optionsBarefoot Massage
« Barefoot massage is also known as Ashiatsu. At Sore Spots, we fuse the stable structure of parallel bars with the stylistic techniques used in India, the basics of General Swedish Massage, and our own therapeutic approach to massage care, all with the use of our feet!
Service fee may vary slightly between practitioners. »5 optionsFacial Cupping + Head, Neck & Shoulders
« Restore balance and release built-up stress with this nurturing treatment focused on the areas where tension most often resides—the head, neck, face, and shoulders. Through intentional massage techniques, this session soothes the nervous system, eases muscle tightness, and encourages a deep sense of calm and clarity.
Enhanced with gentle facial cupping, this treatment supports healthy circulation, promotes lymphatic flow, and relieves facial tension often held in the jaw, brow, and temples. The result is not only visible—brighter, more lifted skin—but deeply felt, in a sense of renewed lightness and presence.
Ideal for clients experiencing jaw clenching, tension headaches, or upper body stiffness, this treatment offers measurable relief and improved overall function. »Hot Stone Therapy
« We use hot stones to increase blood flow to tissues and to stimulate a soothing “rest and digest” response via deep moist heat.
In practice, we use stones that are made specifically for therapeutic bodywork to ensure the best results. They often have smooth surfaces to allow for appropriate contact to the muscles. Sore Spots uses Basalt, Jade and Soapstone for massage because of their ability to absorb, retain, and transfer temperature. »4 optionsMassage for Children ~ (Ages 3 to 13)
