À propos de Joshua
Dans ses motsJOSHUA HAS LIMITED AVAILABILITY FOR NEW COUNSELLING CLIENTS. PLEASE CALL TO BOOK.
Josh is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. He completed his Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Lethbridge and is currently working toward completing his PhD in Counselling and Psychological Studies at Regent University. He also holds a post graduate certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies. Josh’s primary clinical background includes working with couples/relationships, trauma/PTSD, and anxiety. He also has a special interest in working with people who have experienced racial stress and issues related to spiritual/religious identity.
Josh is a BIG fan of humour and loves to laugh with his clients. He enjoys building strong and unique relationships with people and takes great pride in the work that he does. Josh believes that therapy should mean something in real life, beyond the therapy session. While a warm and genuine connection is top priority for Josh, he is known for his direct and action-oriented approach.
Josh uses a variety of approaches: While he is anchored in a Cognitive Behavioural Framework, he remains flexible based on your needs and complements his work with other frameworks, mostly: Solution-Focused, Psychodynamic, EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment, and Internal Family Systems approaches. Josh is an advocate for his clients and strives to make sure he can reflect to them a deep understanding of their experience. To help ensure you experience the best care possible, Josh regularly consults with a diverse network of other psychologists and is constantly updating his knowledge.
In addition to being a Psychologist, Josh is passionate about physical fitness, education, travelling, and his family: His wife and three young boys! His favourite movie is a toss-up between What Dreams May Come and The Great Debaters. He is currently really into building forts and wrestling with his boys (not always voluntarily).
