Judith is an empathetic, experienced counsellor who has a passion for supporting her client's personal growth. She is a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Cape Breton University, a Bachelor of Education from the University of Fort Kent Maine, and a Masters in Counselling from Acadia University.
Judith has 15 years of counselling experience. She has vast experience working with families in crisis, and counselling individuals to cope with ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, behaviour issues, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, grief, relationship challenges and emotional regulation difficulties.
Judith uses a trauma aware, holistic approach to counselling. She emphasizes the importance of understanding clients within the context of their environment, relationships, culture, and overall well-being. This approach integrates various techniques from different therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Judith incorporates evidence-informed practices such as mindfulness, and meditation to promote healing, self-awareness, personal growth, and empowerment.
Judith has a great deal of experience and is passionate about working with victims of trauma and working with the LGBTQIA+ community. She is committed to providing culturally responsive and affirming services to individuals of diverse backgrounds. Judith has the necessary knowledge and experience needed to effectively support youth, adolescents, and adults facing various challenges in life.
