About Julie
Those of you searching for pain relief and management may likely benefit from this message. My name is Julie Cook. I was drawn here by family and I am grateful for this shift in my life. My qualifications are as a certified IAYT(International Association of Yoga Therapists) in addition to a 500hr yoga certification as a teacher. I was fortunate enough to also have childhood exposure to Kripalu Yoga with my mother as a practitioner and teacher to me from her studies during the 70/80s time frame. My father also studied/practiced Martial Arts and Kundalini Yoga.
While Modern Yoga Therapy may register as a new modality here in North America, it has been around for over a hundred and fifty years in almost every other corner of the planet. Yoga Therapy is traditionally dated back to the Second Century CE.
My Yoga Therapy training has deeply enhanced my experience and knowledge of Body Mechanics and simple movement vs asana. Witnessing the current shift that is taking place as Allopathic (Western) Medicine welcomes us into the folds has been a game changer for me. I am very excited about this growth and forward movement in healthcare. 2025 and the coming years will present support in a much needed gap for patients(I prefer the word ‘clients’ for their own empowerment).
AS a C-IAYT, I am grateful for the welcoming of our much needed modality within the total client experience.
