About Julie
Julie is a Registered Provisional Psychologistwho provides counselling for adolescents, youth, and adults. She creates a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore life's challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Julie works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, low self-esteem, life transitions, stress, and relationship challenges. She takes a collaborative, person-centred approach to therapy, recognizing that each person's experiences, strengths, and goals are unique. Her aim is to help clients better understand themselves, develop practical coping strategies, and move toward a more fulfilling life.
Her therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and trauma-informed care. Julie will complete EMDRIA-approved EMDR training in September and is excited to offer EMDR therapy and trauma-focused treatment in October. She also plans to expand her practice to include couples counselling following additional specialized training.
Before joining Alberta Counselling Centre, Julie gained clinical experience providing counselling through community mental health and non-profit organizations, supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, adjustment difficulties, and life stressors. She has also worked extensively with individuals affected by domestic violence, homelessness, addiction, and other complex life circumstances, giving her a deep appreciation for the resilience people demonstrate during difficult times.
Julie’s work with clients is grounded in the belief that healing happens through genuine connection, collaboration, and creating a space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered.
