Karen Pipe, MSW, RSW
As a Registered Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience in mental health and healthcare, I work with adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, workplace stress, workplace conflict, career concerns, leadership stress, helping-professional burnout, relationship difficulties, couples and marriage concerns, family conflict, family estrangement, grief and loss, illness adjustment, caregiver stress, caregiver burnout, and life transitions.
Many of my clients are healthcare workers, helping professionals, caregivers, parents, leaders, and individuals who are used to carrying significant responsibility for others. While they may appear capable and resilient on the outside, they often feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or uncertain about how to move forward.
I provide a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where we can slow things down and make sense of what has been building beneath the surface. Together, we will explore patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, relationship distress, low self-confidence, communication difficulties, people-pleasing, perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, illness-related challenges, or difficulties with boundaries.
My approach is grounded in attachment theory, family systems, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), motivational interviewing, and Gottman-informed relationship work. I have completed advanced training in Couples and Family Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 2), and Internal Family Systems (Level 1).
Whether you are navigating relationship challenges, marriage or partnership concerns, family conflict, family estrangement, workplace stress, burnout, depression, grief, illness adjustment, caregiving responsibilities, leadership challenges, helping-professional stress, or a significant life transition, my goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and empowered to move toward the life and relationships you want.
I offer both ongoing counselling and single-session therapy. Whether you are looking for support with a specific concern, need help making a difficult decision, want a fresh perspective, or are interested in longer-term therapeutic work, we can tailor our work to meet your needs.
