Karla Kamerman
À propos de Karla
Dans ses motsDo you feel more like roommates than partners? Has the mental load, constant conflict, or anxiety left you feeling exhausted, disconnected or stuck?
You don't have to stay in those patterns.
I'm Karla Kamerman, a Registered Psychotherapist with nearly 30 years of experience helping couples and individuals strengthen relationships, improve communication, and break free from the patterns that keep them stuck. Whether you're navigating relationship challenges, ADHD, anxiety, burnout, or a major life transition, therapy can help you build healthier relationship and lasting change. with greater confidence and hope.
I have a particular passion for helping couple who feel disconnected, caught in recurring arguments, or trapped in unhealthy relationship patterns, including the parent-child dynamic that can develop when one partner carries most the planning, organizing, or emotional responsibility. I also support individuals experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, burnout, grief, life transitions, and relationship concerns.
Many of the couples I work with are navigating ADHD or executive functioning challenges that affect communication, emotional regulation, household responsibilities, and intimacy. Rather than simply managing symptoms, we'll work together to understand the patterns keeping you stuck and develop practical strategies that strengthen teamwork, trust, resilience, and connection.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel understood, support and equipped with practical tools they can use in everyday life.
My work is informed by evidence-based approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. Therapy is always individualized because every person, couple and family has unique strengths, challenges, and goals.
Whether you're preparing for marriage, hoping to reconnect with your partner, learning healthier boundaries, managing anxiety, navigating grief, or adjusting to a significant life transition, therapy can provide a safe place to gain insight, build new skills, and create lasting change.
I provide in-person therapy in Stouffville and virtual therapy for clients throughout Ontario. It would be a privilege to partner with you as you build healthier relationships, greater resilience, and a life that feels more connected and fulfilling.
