Hello! My name is Karlie, and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of
Alberta Psychologists. I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University
of Calgary and went on to complete my Master of Counselling degree through City University of
Seattle.
I believe in creating a safe, trusting, and collaborative space for therapy. I strive to build strong
therapeutic relationships that supports and empowers clients. My approach to counselling
involves using evidence-based and client-centered approaches, to help individuals learn, grow,
and create lasting change. Through this, I strive to help individuals navigate their unique
experiences and challenges to achieve their goals.
Through my practice, I have gained experience working with individuals of all ages, including
children, adolescents, adults, and couples. While I tend to begin with a Cognitive Behavioural
Therapy (CBT) approach, I utilize many other modalities, including Narrative Therapy, Emotion
Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment Theory, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
therapy (EMDR) and Gottman Method Couples Counselling. Challenges with mental health are
unique, and I try to tailor my approach to meet each individual’s needs.
I enjoy getting to know others, and I understand how pivotal it can be to create a connection with
someone during their mental health journey. My goal is to meet you where you are in your
journey and provide tools and strategies along the way. I am here to help and look forward to
meeting with you.
