Katie strives to provide a judgement-free and accepting environment for adult, couples, and teen clients. She works in collaboration with her clients to help heal the root causes of stress and unhappiness. Her specialty areas include: addiction, trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship, and personal growth.
###A Note from Katie:
I began my career in mental health in 2010 working with young women at a juvenile detention center; from there my passion for helping and connecting with others was solidified.
I have experience working with people who are facing addiction, eating disorders, trauma, as well as other stressors from everyday life. Although the journey to healing will look differently for each individual, I am a firm believer in healing the root cause of unhappiness and pain rather than simply managing the symptoms.
I do not believe that people are defined by their behaviours. We are complex beings with different facets that make us whole. We also play diverse roles: sometimes, these roles and the behaviours that accompany them help us achieve what we want in life, and sometimes they hinder us from reaching our full potential.
I am passionate about working with my clients to better understand the needs their behaviours are attempting to fulfill, whether successfully or unsuccessfully, without shame or judgement.
