À propos de Kay

Dans ses mots
Hi, I'm Kay! I am a queer, neurodivergent therapist who believes therapy is not about fixing who you are, but about gaining understanding, self-compassion and authentic support. I can provide support in navigating various challenges such as anxiety, stress, identity exploration, life transitions, interpersonal conflict, executive dysfunction and low mood. As a second-generation Caribbean therapist, I understand how cultural values, family dynamics, and intergenerational experiences can shape mental health. I approach this work with respect for these complexities and an awareness of how culture, identity, and systemic factors impact emotional wellbeing. I have over five years of experience working with neurodivergent individuals in care and educational settings. This background informs how I support clients in navigating daily challenges related to communication, emotional regulation, relationships, work, and burnout. My approach to therapy is integrative and grounded in person-centered care. I aim to offer therapy that is flexible, affirming, responsive and trauma informed. I view therapy as a collaborative process, where your voice and lived experience guide our work together. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model, I work with you to develop a process that reflects your goals, values and individual needs. I provide practical, functional tools that you can use in your everyday life. Together, we can work on strategies to help you manage challenges with the goal of making life feel more manageable outside of therapy sessions. I will support you in setting goals that feel achievable while holding you accountable in a way that feels respectful, empathetic and aligned with your needs. Healing and growth look different for everyone, and I am committed to supporting you in building a version of wellness that feels authentic to you. I invite you to book a free 15-minute consultation with me to see if we would be a good fit!
