On Maternity leave from June 1st, 2026 to August/September 2027 - Elyse Nieuwold, Pelvic Health and MSK PT, will be covering my practice
Kimberly completed her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy with honors at the Université Laval, in Québec city, in 2018. Early in her career, Kimberly discovered a passion for pelvic health physiotherapy.
Kimberly is dedicated to breaking the silence about pelvic health’s conditions. With knowledge and personalized exercises of the pelvic floor, she is able to empower her patients and improve their quality of life and well-being. When stepping into her office, you will be respected, listened to, and taken as a whole individual. She is highly motivated and takes every opportunity to enhance her knowledge. She has done over a dozen post-graduate course work, including manual therapy, pelvic health, and dry needling (IMS). Regarding pelvic health, she has experience with:
-Pregnant and postpartum individuals
-Pelvic organ prolapse
-Stress and urge urinary incontinence, urges, dribble post-voiding, frequent urinations, urination at night (nocturia), voiding difficulties
-Hemorrhoids, constipation, fecal incontinence
-Endometriosis, bladder pain syndrome (also known as IC)
-Pelvic girdle pain, pain with sexual intercourse, vaginismus, pain with orgasm/erection
-Pre and post-prostatectomy
-Children’s pelvic floor physiotherapy: encopresis, nocturnal enuresis (bed wetting), urinary incontinence
-Low back, hip, and sacroiliac joint pain
In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities, such as downhill skiing, ski touring, canoeing, trail running, mountain biking, and hiking. She also loves cooking, practicing yoga, traveling, and scuba diving. When an occasion arises to adventure in the backcountry, whether it is on a bike, on skis, or with hiking boots, she wants to be part of it. The mountain sports, the community vibe, and the quality of life in the Kootenays are what drew Kimberly here and why she has chosen this area as her permanent home.

WHAT: This postpartum group class is tailored to an individual's rehabilitation goals by a Pelvic Health physiotherapist with the goal in mind to support your rehabilitation journey. Who said postpartum parents can’t be strong and badass?!?!?! Whether you want to trail run, mountain bike, ski or manage to have your baby in the carrier for walks/hikes, I will assist you in returning to loading activities with graded exposure, exercises, advice, and pelvic health knowledge.
Kim will ensure you feel empowered with knowledge and advice throughout the whole class. She will monitor your pelvic floor/abdomen/other symptoms before, throughout, and at the end of the class. She will keep in mind your different medical history, physical conditions, including your pelvic floor conditions, such as diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, vaginal scars, and pelvic floor strength/relaxation objectives. This is why having a physio pelvic health assessment is a requirement for this class.
FOR WHO: This class is designed for people at least 12 weeks postpartum. The other welcomed guests are your babies!!! They are also welcome to The Lab to have fun.
PELVIC PT CHARTS:
We ask every participant to be assessed by a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and to send Kimberly Lessard, Pelvic Health PT, their charts at kim@nelosnphysio.com. This assessment can be done by the pelvic health physio of your choice or by Kim. This chart must contain an individualized physical therapy assessment, client-specific treatment goals, and a treatment plan based on the assessment findings. The postpartum physiotherapy class will include ongoing guidance, monitoring and supervision of the client’s treatment by the physical therapist. I will be charting your ongoing progress in your file. If you haven’t had an assessment yet, we suggest you plan ahead to make sure you have it done before the group class starts, as it is a requirement to join.
INSURANCE PROVIDERS:
Clients should check with their insurer as to whether physical therapy services delivered in these types of group class are reimbursable. We do not regulate what third party payers will and will not pay for. Any receipts will clearly indicate " Physiotherapy Postpartum Rehabilitation Group Class". In general, payors will only reimburse clients for treatments which fit their definition of “physical therapy” and this might be different than how the CHCPBC (College of Health and Care Professionals of BC) defines it. It is always good practice to check with the insurer ahead of time as to whether a specific program or treatment will be covered before beginning any services, as insurance coverage varies widely from plan to plan, even within the same insurer. For this group physiotherapy class, you will have to submit the receipt to your insurer yourself. »
