About Kirsten
It’s safe to say Kirsten truly bleeds purple! She attended Western University, where she completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2010, her Masters of Physical therapy in 2012, a Sport Medicine Fellowship in 2013, and Masters of Clinical Science in 2017, where she earned her advanced manual therapy designation as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT). Kirsten also completed her Diploma in Sport Physiotherapy and received her designation as a Registered International Sport Physiotherapist (RISPT) in 2016. As a sport physio, she has had the amazing opportunity to work as an interdisciplinary team member with several national sport organizations.
Kirsten is committed to lifelong learning and professional development and has completed a variety of post-graduate courses, including manual therapy, acupuncture, dry needling, vestibular and concussion management, and advanced exercise prescription. She truly believes that whether you are an Olympic athlete, or a grandparent hoping to play on the floor with your grandchildren, every patient deserves to receive an exceptional standard of care.
Kirsten will guide you through your rehabilitation journey, but is adamant that she will not be the one to “fix” you. Kirsten believes that active participation is paramount to successful rehabilitation outcomes; she aims to make you feel empowered to take your health into your own hands, make sustainable, long-lasting changes, and provide you with the tools to “fix” yourself. She will always be a human first and therapist second, leading with kindness, compassion and empathy.
In her spare time, Kirsten can be found daydreaming about her next travel adventure, showcasing her slightly competitive nature playing recreational sports (especially with her HW colleagues), as well as enjoying the great outdoors with her family, where she and her husband are likely chasing after their busy son.
