Hello! (12+)My name is Kristine Mallorca, and my pronouns are she/her. I am bilingual, and I can provide support in English and Tagalog. I want to recognize that the first step of therapy can be complicated, and I want to thank you for being here. I am a registered provisional psychologist in Alberta. I hold a Master's in Counselling degree from Athabasca University and a Bachelor of Arts specializing in Psychology from the University of Alberta.
I have worked with individuals from various backgrounds, economic statuses, genders, ethnicities, and genders. I enjoy working with adolescents, teenagers, and adults and supporting them in their healing journeys. My previous work and experiences have created the foundations of my counselling practice to emphasize the importance of recognizing the potential of individuals and providing a non-judgemental and safe space for all those who walk through the door.
The work in therapy can be exhausting and rewarding, and my work revolves around creating space to help acknowledge the potential of all my clients to take on this work. As a person-centred therapist, I believe in using a collaborative and integrative approach, drawing from Solution Focused, Narrative, Self-compassion, and Mindfulness-based therapy.
When I am not in the office, you usually find me at home watching movies, playing video games, or reading. I also enjoy taking time outdoors, whether hiking, snowboarding, or walking with my dog.
