À propos de Liane
Dans ses motsWhat were you doing before pursuing RMT?
Before pursuing RMT, I graduated from BCIT with a Marketing Communications Diploma and a Bachelors of Business Administration. Currently, I own a small coffee business (not a cafe, I place espresso machines around downtown Vancouver and I drive around cleaning & maintaining them), very different from a career in massage therapy.
Why do you want to be an RMT?
I want to become an RMT because I love the idea of helping others through touch and wellness. I had never been an active person growing up, and during COVID I felt really trapped mentally and physically. I started to take fitness more seriously and it changed my outlook for the better. That branched into me wanting to help others feel good about their bodies as well. Everybody’s health goals vary, but if you come to me, I’ll do my best to make sure you leave the treatment room better than when you walked in. It’s with that mindset and doing something that needs me to stay healthy so I can make others better, that I’m pursuing this path now. :)
How do you like to spend your time outside of work/school?
Outside of work/school, I’m a big horror movie fan. I also love trying new restaurants (feel free to give me suggestions or ask for suggestions), and of course spending time with friends and family whenever I can.
What is your favourite thing about VCMT?
My favourite thing about VCMT is how tight knit the community is. For someone who doesn’t have a lot of medical/anatomy knowledge, this program can feel very daunting. I love the cohort I’m in, I enjoy the variety of classes and instructors, and I can’t imagine myself learning massage therapy anywhere else.
Do you speak fluently any languages other than English?
I speak English, Cantonese, and Mandarin fluently!
