« During the initial consultation, the physiotherapist who specializes in TMJ will gather all the necessary informations regarding your genral health and your condition and will perform a detailed examination of the TMJ, cervical spine an posture.
The physiotherapist will then begin the treatment plan which includes joint mobilizations, myofascial release and motor control and postural home exercises.
Physiotherapy treatments are recommanded for:
- Restoring the optimal biomechanics of the TMJ
- Reducing pain and dysfunction of the TMJ
- Reducing joint clicking and locking and improving range of motion of the TMJ
- Improving posture and mobility of the cervical region
- Improving respiratory mechanics
- Regulating the muscle tome of the neck and jaw
