About Mariah
Mariah (she/her) is a Registered Occupational Therapist originally from Southwestern Ontario. She completed her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto and holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Wilfrid Laurier University. Mariah has experience supporting children and families across clinic, community, and group-based settings, with a focus on emotional regulation, sensory processing, self-care and daily living skills, and participation in meaningful routines at home, school, and in the community.
Mariah’s practice is grounded in relationship-based, strengths-focused, and neurodiversity-affirming care. She values understanding each child’s unique sensory, emotional, and developmental profile and uses play, movement, and functional activities to support self-regulation, confidence, and independence in everyday life. Drawing from her experience in nature-based occupational therapy, Mariah also incorporates sensory-rich environments to foster connection, peer interaction, and engagement.
Before becoming an occupational therapist, Mariah was a competitive pairs figure skater and later a Skate Canada coach. These experiences continue to shape her therapeutic approach through movement-based learning, skill progression, and supportive coaching. Outside of work, Mariah enjoys going on walks with her grandma, trying new restaurants, attending fitness classes, and teaching kids how to ice skate!
