As a little girl, Marissa had an unshakable belief that she would grow up to become a mermaid. However, despite her dedication, strong worth ethic, and many years of swimming lessons, fate intervened and she was forced to make other plans. Marissa has a creative spirit and a strong passion for learning. She has had successful careers in both the real estate and fashion industries. It was her curious nature that led her to become increasingly interested in health and wellness, particularly in the body’s intrinsic ability to heal itself. She soon discovered that the best way to merge her desire to help people with her love for the human body was through massage therapy. Marissa loves working with her clients and gets a huge amount of professional satisfaction out of seeing them improve their health and functional ability and decrease their stress levels and pain. “People are often surprised at how good they can feel” she says. “It’s incredible how much pain we tend to accept as a necessary part of every day life”. She looks forward to meeting new clients and helping them achieve their goals of living an active, healthy, pain free life. Marissa is a long time resident of the Okanagan. When not in the clinic she can often be found out hiking on one of the many great trails in the valley or at one of the many art and cultural events happening around town. Marissa graduated with honours from the Vancouver Career College Registered Massage Therapy Program and was valedictorian for her class.
