About Mary
Mary McPherson is a compassionate and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist who supports adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating life’s challenges. She understands that difficult experiences—whether anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or relationship struggles—can feel overwhelming, and that finding the right support can sometimes feel daunting.
With a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, Mary brings years of experience working with diverse client groups. Her approach is integrative, collaborative, and tailored to each individual’s needs, combining client-focused, trauma-informed strategies with modalities such as EMDR, DBT, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), and the Gottman Method. She works with clients to explore how thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns influence daily life and helps them discover new strategies to foster growth, resilience, and connection.
Mary is a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP), ICEEFT, and EMDR International. She is dedicated to meeting clients with respect, warmth, and integrity, providing a safe space to work through trauma, loss, life changes, or other challenges.
