About Maryam
Maryam Owrangi holds a Master’s degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in
Biomechanics and Neuroscience from McGill University (August 2025). Her academic
training focuses on muscle Patho-kinesiology, neuromuscular control, and human
movement science, providing a strong scientific foundation for clinical assessment and
therapeutic intervention.
In September 2021, she completed both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Sport
Science at Kharazmi University. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Corrective
Exercise Specialist at the Rehab and Corrective Movement Institute (2021), where she
designed and implemented individualized movement correction programs.
As a former competitive swimmer and national-level athlete in Iran, Maryam brings
firsthand experience in high-performance training, injury prevention, and movement
optimization. Her athletic background strengthens her clinical reasoning and deepens
her understanding of biomechanics, rehabilitation, and long-term musculoskeletal
health.
To further expand her hands-on therapeutic expertise, Maryam completed advanced
massage therapy training at IKRA Academy (2025). She is a Registered Massage
Therapist (RMT) and a member of the Fédération Québécoise des Massothérapeutes
(FQM).
Maryam provides evidence-informed therapeutic care, including Swedish massage,
trigger point therapy, and passive mobilization techniques. Her approach integrates
scientific knowledge, clinical assessment, and individualized treatment planning to
support pain management, functional recovery, and optimized movement quality.
