Matt was born on Vancouver Island and spent much of his childhood in Belgium before returning to Canada in his teens. His family eventually settled in the Okanagan, a place he believes is one of the best on earth.
As a counsellor, Matt is committed to creating a space where every client feels seen, heard, and respected. His approach is trauma-informed and collaborative, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities to best support each individual’s unique goals. Matt integrates techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy in his work. He is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
Matt works with individuals of all ages, including youth aged 12 and up.
Outside the counselling room, Matt enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the outdoors in the beautiful Okanagan. He’s an avid mountain biker and camper, and has a well-known passion for great coffee.
