Matthew Kennedy
À propos de Matthew
Dans ses motsMatthew (Matt) Kennedy, M.A., R.P. (he/him) brings over 15 years of experience in the mental health and addictions field, working with individuals navigating trauma, emotional dysregulation, and the kinds of experiences that don't always respond to conventional talk therapy.
Matt's work is grounded in neuropsychotherapy, an approach that treats the nervous system as the foundation of emotional and psychological health. Rather than starting with thoughts and working down, he starts with the body and works up. This means helping clients shift out of physiological states that keep them stuck before doing the deeper processing work.
To do this, Matt draws on a focused set of specialized modalities. He is certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART®), a structured eye-movement approach that helps clients process distressing memories without having to verbally relive them. He is also certified in Tholáge® Neuropsychotherapy, a somatic approach that targets suppressed and avoided emotional experiences, particularly useful for clients who feel like something is unresolved but can't quite reach it through talking alone. Matt is a Certified HeartMath® Trauma-Sensitive Practitioner, using HRV biofeedback to build emotional regulation and physiological resilience.
Matt works directly with the nervous system as part of his clinical approach, using vagus nerve stimulation to help clients access states that support processing and change. In-person clients can also benefit from Clinical Vagal Stim Therapy delivered through the Dolphin Neurostim microcurrent device.
Matt is known for his warmth, directness, and a well-timed dad joke. He believes that tough therapeutic work and laughter aren't mutually exclusive, and that feeling comfortable in the room matters as much as the work itself.
