Matthew Thompson
À propos de Matthew
Dans ses motsI've had the opportunity to continue my education after my initial Physiotherapy Masters degree at UBC in 2016 and complete a Doctorate through the United States which has helped by widely expand my working clinical knowledge. This doctorate was likely my most meaningful education to date and covered the global body, a wide range of conditions, as well as advanced treatment methods. Following this, I've enjoyed specialization courses for Vestibular and Concussion management.
Initially as a Physio I worked briefly in Vancouver within a Neurological and Spinal Cord injury field. Since then, I have enjoyed being back in Victoria with this being my 10th year treating a variety of Musculoskeletal injuries as well as remaining in the neurological field within Concussion and Vestibular rehabilitation at Tall Tree.
The experience of treating a wide variety of ages and medical conditions I value professionally. A broad population base, treatment methods, and cognitive stimulus helps keep me engaged, cognitively stimulated, and promotes me staying sharp and up to date with a wide range of medical evidence. I enjoy the analysis and complexity of assessment and working as a team to solve the issue, often referring to this as solving a puzzle.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children. We're always active and trying at this stage of life to learn new skills, new sports, and transition that knowledge and development to my kids. You'll always find us either with a ball, on wheels, at a park, or at a beach. This is also why I'm usually right there with you, rehabilitating my own injuries too!
