Melanie is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Melanie is a seasoned psychologist who has a great deal of experience in working with children, adolescents and families in various settings. Prior to working in private practice, Melanie’s work was based in a mental health clinic setting. Over the past few years, her practice as a psychologist has come to include psychoeducational assessments and her Certified Therapy Dog, Gus. Melanie also has experience working in a school based setting where she has worked to support parents and teaching staff to best understand the student and their social, emotional and academic needs.
Melanie provides individual and family therapy. She also provides psychoeducational assessments to evaluate cognitive, behavioural and academic functioning for children, adolescents and adults.
Melanie has a special interest in working with children, adolescents and adults. Melanie’s training has been based on family systems theory, which she continues to utilize in her practice. She believes in establishing a strong therapeutic and collaborative working relationship with each of the clients that she meets to help the people she works with in the most effective manner possible. Melanie’s goal is for her clients to feel heard, supported and understood.
