About Micaela
Micaela is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She has a Master of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology from the University of Guelph-Humber.
Micaela has a warm and empathetic demeanour and loves working with people. Micaela believes that the relationship between therapist and client is essential to therapeutic success and seeks to be a nonjudgemental and compassionate witness to her clients.
Micaela takes an integrative approach to healing and utilizes multiple modalities. Her approaches include Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical-Behaviour therapy, Family Systems Theory, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems. Regardless of approach, Micaela seeks to be a safe base for her clients as they navigate the unique complexities of their circumstances.
Micaela's counselling experience includes working with individuals dealing with relationship issues (romantic, peer, or family of origin), family conflict, emotional disturbances, stress, anxiety, depression, hoarding, grief and loss, trauma & PTSD, life transitions, self-esteem, spirituality, sexuality, and chronic pain.
Micaela works with adolescents 14+, adults, families and older adults.
