About Monique
#Meeting you where you are, just as you are.#
Monique Salmon is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology
from the University of British Columbia and over 20 years of experience supporting people of all ages. She
helps clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, identity questions, loss, life transitions,
school and work pressures, and the complexities of living alongside chronic pain.
She works with a diverse range of clients, including neurodiverse individuals, people across sexual
orientations and gender identities, and those from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Her
experience spans youth, young adults, and adults, allowing her to adapt her approach to meet each person
exactly where they are.
Monique’s approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded. She integrates evidence-based and experiential
approaches, including Person-Centered Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic-based practices,
Narrative Therapy, CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and expressive/experiential methods to help clients
develop insight, emotional flexibility, and practical strategies for navigating life’s challenges. She believes
meaningful change grows through curiosity, compassion, and connection to one’s own inner wisdom.
Outside of work, Monique enjoys skiing, kayaking, hiking, cycling, singing with her choir, writing poetry, and
spending time with family and friends.
