About Nate
Hi, I’m Nate, a Registered Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I’ve had the privilege of supporting people in diverse settings, including individuals with intellectual disabilities, at-risk youth, families navigating challenges through Child Protective Services, and now I work supporting both students and their families in the school system. Whether it’s providing counselling, helping with social-emotional struggles, connecting families to resources, or just sharing the latest meme or video game update, I have always strived to create a space that’s both supportive and genuine.
My approach is non-judgmental, trauma-informed, person-centered, neuro-affirming, and strengths-based. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and Systems Theory, allowing me to adapt to each client’s unique needs and goals. I primarily work with children and youth, but also enjoy supporting adults, seniors, and families. My areas of focus include neurodiversity, school-related challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, crisis intervention, stress, and self-confidence. My style is calm, collaborative, and supportive, with a touch of creativity, warmth, and wit. I believe that counselling and therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy as it can be a space for curiosity, growth, and even laughter.
I became a counsellor because I’m passionate about mental health and neurodiversity, and I truly enjoy helping people navigate life’s ups and downs. Outside of work, you’ll find me playing sports, video games, or board games, painting miniatures, diving into Dungeons & Dragons, or spending time with my family and pets.
