My absolute favorite quote is from Carl Jung, "Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul be just another human soul." I believe in the importance of genuine human connection within the therapeutic space, that is rooted in empathy, compassion, trust and authenticity. I value meeting each person with curiosity and respect, honoring their lived experiences while providing a safe and brave space where they feel seen, heard and accepted.
I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker with a background in providing counselling to individuals with developmental disabilities and support to parents and caregivers. I recognize the emotional complexities that can come with caregiving and strive to offer a compassionate, non-judgmental approach that honors each person's unique journey. I also work with individuals experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression and emotion dysregulation. I draw my approach from various modalities and is centered on each individual's unique needs, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
I believe in creating an inclusive and affirming space where individuals feel understood, supported, and empowered. My hope is that clients leave therapy feeling more connected to themselves, equipped with the resilience and confidence to navigate life's journey.
