My name is Nichole Ramo, a Canadian Certified Counsellor with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.
I bring nearly a decade of experience in the helping field and take pride in being a highly relational practitioner. My work has spanned supporting children under 12 with complex behavioural needs, adolescents navigating behavioural challenges and complex trauma, and parents and caregivers seeking to strengthen their parenting skills to support their children’s well-being and safety. These experiences allow me to offer support that is well-rounded, individualized, and sustainable within each client’s lifestyle and capacity.
I provide play-based therapy for children under 12, creating a safe, engaging space that supports learning, healing, and emotional expression. I also value working collaboratively with parents and caregivers, supporting their confidence, offering space to process strong emotions, and providing insight and guidance when appropriate.
In addition, I support individuals experiencing low mood, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, and other life stressors. My approach is client-centred, drawing primarily from person-centred and solution-focused frameworks, with integration of CBT-informed strategies as needed.
I have recently completed certificates in Trauma Play and Foundations of Play Therapy. I am committed to supporting clients through an ethnocultural lens when relevant, helping them navigate challenges with compassion, build resilience, and move forward with confidence.
