###Registered Social Worker (RSW/MSW), Provisional Registry #####I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW, MSW) (Provisional Registry) with experience supporting children (3+), youth (13+), and adults (18+). I provide services to individuals from age 3 through to older adulthood, ensuring a thoughtful and tailored approach at every stage of life. My background includes working with children and youth facilitating age-appropriate, play-based, and social activities to support diverse mental health, developmental, and behavioral needs. As an Intern Therapist, I served individuals who experienced sexual violence; providing psychoeducation related to trauma and its impacts and facilitating sessions to support self-awareness and regulation. My social work background also includes providing case management to older adults experiencing elder abuse. My private practice currently includes supporting individuals with anxiety, chronic pain and illness, caregiver burnout, religion and spirituality, sexual violence, grief and loss, childhood trauma, complex trauma, interpersonal dynamics, boundaries, self-esteem, identity, and other mental health concerns or challenges. #####I am here to navigate alongside you with empathy and empowerment. Navigating life’s challenges can be overwhelming. I approach my work with deep empathy, drawing from my own experiences with life’s struggles and the complexities of accessing resources. My goal is to offer a safe, supportive space where individuals feel understood and empowered. #####I bring extensive education, training and experience to my sessions. I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Calgary, with a clinical specialization in community-informed practice for health and well-being. I have also completed a Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation with a Speech Language Therapist Assistant Major. My work experience includes over a decade of supporting children and families with complex needs. In private practice I work with children, youth, and adults facing a variety of circumstances. My experience has taught me that having a professional ally to help navigate life’s challenges contributes to positive long-term outcomes. #####I use trauma-informed care and anti-oppressive practices as the foundation of my relationally based practice. Trauma-informed care consists of four key components: safety, trustworthiness, choice, and collaboration. Navigating the rupture and repair process in a relationally safe way is essential to a strong therapeutic alliance and positive outcomes. Anti-oppressive practice guides my work to challenge traditional power dynamics in therapy, reduce systemic barriers to participating, and promote equity throughout all interactions. This includes honoring identity and intersectionality as well as fostering mutual accountability. My approach is rooted in a systems perspective, considering each person within their environment and recognizing the impact of social justice on well-being. #####My therapeutic approach is eclectic and incorporate multiple therapies that is a best fit for your needs. I have experience and training in multiple therapeutic approaches and interventions. Because there is no one size fits all to therapy, we will discuss and incorporate various approaches that could be the best fit for your needs. I utilize therapeutic concepts like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Neurodiversity Affirming Care, LGBTQ2S+ Affirming Practice, and Two-eyed Seeing Approach. My therapeutic style is also informed by attachment, polyvagal, somatic, psychodynamic, parts work, and narrative therapies. Combining these approaches allows me to support diverse individuals with complex needs in ways that are engaging and meaningful to them. I foster experiential participation in therapy sessions offering a variety of tools and encouraging clients to share personal items that are helpful for them. With children, youth, and adults who are interested, I also utilize a play-based approach. This can foster skill development related to emotional awareness, self-regulation, and behaviour changes. This can also be done within the context of caregiver-child dynamics to facilitate connection and mutual growth. My education and work experience give me extensive knowledge and skills related to play-based approaches. As my career evolves, I will continue engaging in professional development related to therapeutic play and working with children, youth, and families. For individuals seeking support related to faith and spirituality, I also work from an existential humanistic and narrative strategy lens, exploring meaning, purpose, and spiritual well-being in a respectful and inclusive manner. While I am a Christian therapist, my life experiences and education provide a strong foundation for me to provide support to diverse individuals. Whether you are questioning faith, want to incorporate faith into therapy, or are curious about how faith impacts mental health, I can provide competent and sensitive support to you. I strive to consistently expand my knowledge and integrate new learning and insights into my practice, so I can better serve my clients.
