About Nusrat
Nusrat Jahan, RSW, RSSW
I believe that healing begins when people feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate, and culturally responsive space where you can explore life's challenges at your own pace while working toward meaningful and lasting change.
I support adults and youth experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, chronic stress, grief and loss, life transitions, chronic pain, and adjustment difficulties. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, client-centred, and anti-oppressive. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)-informed interventions, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness, strengths-based practice, and solution-focused therapy. Together, we will work to understand your experiences, build practical coping strategies, strengthen emotional resilience, and move toward the life that is most meaningful to you.
I recognize that every person's story is unique. Whether you're struggling with overwhelming emotions, recovering from trauma, coping with chronic pain, managing stress related to work or relationships, or adjusting to significant life changes, therapy can provide a supportive space to regain balance and confidence.
I provide psychotherapy in English and Bengali, and I can also converse in Hindi and Urdu, enabling me to support clients from diverse cultural backgrounds with sensitivity and respect.
Seeking support is often the hardest first step. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing, growth, and hope.
