À propos de Ibhawoh
Dans ses motsReaching out for support can feel like a big step, especially when life already feels overwhelming. Many people come to therapy carrying stress, anxiety, grief, trauma, or simply the exhaustion of trying to hold everything together. In my work, I offer a space where you can slow down, take a breath, and show up as you are, with no pressure.
I am a registered clinical social worker with both a Master’s degree and a Bachelor of Social Work, and I have spent over 20 years supporting youth and adults in hospital and community settings. Along the way, I have learned that therapy works best when it feels safe, genuine, and collaborative. I am deeply aware of how social, cultural, and systemic factors shape our well-being, and I work with people from diverse and intersectional backgrounds.
I support individuals navigating addictions, anxiety, OCD, depression/other mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, psychosis, chronic pain, grief and loss, anger management, domestic abuse, marginalization, and race-based trauma. I also provide affirming, neurodiversity-informed care for people with autism, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities, with an approach that honours each person’s strengths, needs, and lived experiences.
My work is holistic and strengths-based, and therapy is always tailored to your goals, your values, and your pace. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and supportive counselling.
I am a Compassion Fatigue Specialist and hold a clinical certificate in trauma counselling, with additional training in anger management, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation.
At the heart of my work is a commitment to creating a safe, collaborative, and culturally responsive space where you feel seen and supported. You do not have to have everything figured out to begin; healing can start right where you are.
