About Rebeca
Hi there! My name is Rebeca Tejada, and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling and a Bachelor of Science with an Honours Specialization in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience. In addition to providing counselling services in English, as a native Spanish speaker, I am committed to creating a space where clients who prefer to speak Spanish can do so comfortably in their sessions with me.
I believe that everyone deserves a space where all aspects of themselves are welcome. I strive to offer an environment that is non-judgmental, supportive, and inviting, where individuals can be themselves. I specialize in working with children and their caregivers, adolescents, and emerging adults, supporting them as they navigate anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and other life challenges.
My work is informed by attachment-based theory, developmental science, and person-centered principles, emphasizing autonomy, choice, and trusting that each individual’s nervous system will guide what needs to be processed and honoured in session, whether through talk, play, or other expressive means. In therapy, I act as a supportive mirror, offering clients space to explore their experiences at their own pace. I also draw from structured and evidence-informed frameworks that support behavioural change, resilience, and emotional processing.
