Renee Rathwell, OT
À propos de Renee
Dans ses motsBorn and raised in Victoria, Renee is glad to work in the community she has always called home. She completed her Master of Occupational Therapy at Western University, where she built a strong foundation in upper extremity rehabilitation.
Renee has experience working in pediatrics, supporting children in developing a wide range of occupational skills, including fine motor abilities. She strives to meet each client where they are, taking time to understand what is most important to them and tailoring therapy to reflect their goals, interests, and stage of readiness—an approach that continues to guide her work with clients of all ages.
Now practicing in hand therapy, Renee is excited to deepen her expertise in upper extremity rehabilitation. During her master’s program, she completed training in custom orthosis fabrication and discovered an appreciation for the balance of precision and creativity involved in splint design. Her personal interest in pottery and crafting complements the skills needed to create custom orthoses.
Renee recognizes that physical recovery is closely connected to emotional wellbeing, environment, and mindset. With experience in acute care and outpatient mental health, she considers not only the injury itself, but also each person’s stressors, routines, motivations, and support systems. She aims to create a supportive and collaborative space where clients feel understood and empowered in their rehabilitation.
Outside of the clinic, Renee enjoys spending time in nature, playing volleyball, and cooking for friends and family!
