About Robert
Rob Francis is a seasoned physiotherapist and co-director at Stasis Rehabilitation, bringing nearly two decades of experience to his practice. He graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2007 and has been a Registered Physiotherapist with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC) since 2016.
Rob began his career in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), where he worked as a senior physiotherapist in trauma orthopedics, managing complex multi-trauma cases. He later transitioned into private orthopedic hospital settings, focusing on pre- and post-surgical musculoskeletal (MSK) rehabilitation. Since moving to Canada, Rob has practiced in the Langley area and continues to work in the public sector through Surrey Memorial Hospital, maintaining a well-rounded clinical presence across both systems.
While Rob treats a full spectrum of orthopedic conditions, he has developed a deep specialization in the rehabilitation of gymnasts—from grassroots to the elite national level. As a physiotherapist for the Canadian National Gymnastics Team, he travels internationally several times a year to support high-performance athletes in competition. His work extends beyond injury management; he plays a key role in injury prevention, return-to-sport planning, and load management during training cycles. His knowledge of the physical demands, technical skills, and mental resilience required in gymnastics allows him to tailor care with precision.
Rob’s connection to the sport is also deeply personal. As a father to two competitive gymnasts, he understands the athlete’s experience not just from the clinical side, but from the day-to-day reality of training schedules, setbacks, and big-stage pressure. This dual lens—professional and personal—gives him unique insight into the needs of both athletes and their families.
Certified in acupuncture and dry needling since 2010, Rob integrates a variety of treatment approaches including manual therapy, individualized exercise programming, and athlete education. His work is grounded in current research and guided by the specific goals of each patient, whether they are elite athletes, weekend warriors, or those recovering from surgery.
Outside of the clinic, Rob enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, snowboarding, golfing, and passionately following Manchester City—a team he supported long before their rise to fame.
