About Sam
Samuel is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Counselling
Psychology, with distinction. He utilizes a collaborative, integrative, and evidence-based
approach, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Prolonged
Exposure (PE), and existential psychotherapy. Samuel is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for clients experiencing PTSD and complex trauma. When working with couples, Samuel utilizes Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to support connection, safety, and growth in relationships.
Samuel helps clients navigate their lives by equipping them with practical skills and strategies
that foster resilience and self-confidence. His areas of focus include depression, anxiety, self-
esteem concerns, addiction, post-traumatic stress, complex PTSD, ADHD, burnout, men’s issues,
life transitions, complex grief, and body image challenges.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Samuel gained diverse experience working for crisis hotlines,
shelters, detox facilities, and in case management roles supporting individuals with complex
mental health diagnoses. Through these roles, he helped clients overcome barriers and
challenges, empowering them to build rewarding and meaningful lives. Samuel’s extensive
experience in crisis intervention allows him to remain calm and supportive – helping clients feel
safe even when discussing the most difficult topics.
Maintaining a spirit of compassion and curiosity, Samuel welcomes individuals from all
backgrounds and strives to create a space where everyone feels heard and valued. He believes
that building a safe and trusting connection is integral to healing and growth, and is committed to
ensuring that clients feel understood – no matter what brings them to therapy.
