About Samantha
Samantha Freake is a registered social worker in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador (NL).
Throughout Samantha’s career, she has worked with diverse populations in frontline, managerial, and therapeutic roles which serviced children, youth, and families.
Samantha offers counselling services to individuals aged 16+. Samantha has specialized training and interests in working with those who have experienced trauma, including childhood trauma/adverse childhood experiences, intergenerational trauma, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD), attachment wounds, perinatal struggles, neurodiversity, religious trauma, and/or abuse. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS), crisis intervention, and is a certified Clinical Services Provider for individuals with ADHD.
Samantha also draws her practice from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, Somatic Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Additionally, Samantha has specialized training in perinatal and postpartum support through the Doula School of Canada. Individuals will receive tailored services that best suit their needs, which will be agreed upon by both Samantha and the individuals she serves.
Samantha strives to create a safe, open, and collaborative environment for healing and understanding. She has a passion for ensuring individuals feel heard and supported while working together to discover strength and empowerment.
Sessions are available virtually or in person across NL. Sessions are offered at a rate of $185 per 50 minute session. The cost of sessions may be covered under eligible insurance plans.
