About Sandy
Sandy is a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.), Master of Medical Qigong (MMQ), and Tuina Therapist known for her integrative, intuitive, and results-oriented approach to healing. She combines Traditional Chinese Medicine with mind-body and energetic practices to support the physical, emotional, and energetic dimensions of health, creating treatments that are deeply therapeutic and highly individualized.
She is a certified Level 9 Balance System Acupuncture practitioner, an advanced designation reflecting extensive training in a precise and clinically effective system of acupuncture. This channel-based approach allows Sandy to address pain, internal conditions, and neurological concerns with a high degree of accuracy, often supporting faster and more measurable changes.
Sandy’s work focuses on complex and chronic conditions, including stress and anxiety, musculoskeletal pain, injury recovery, and neurological rehabilitation. She also treats internal imbalances such as insomnia, fatigue, digestive concerns, and emotional health challenges, and has a special interest in women’s health, fertility, and hormonal balance.
Her treatments may integrate acupuncture, tuina, cupping, moxibustion, and gua sha with medical qigong and mind-body techniques that support deeper healing, regulation, and energetic integration.
Sandy also offers facial rejuvenation treatments, including Mei Zen cosmetic acupuncture and microneedling, blending traditional wisdom with modern techniques to support both appearance and vitality.
Her connection to movement, nature, and the outdoors began early in life. Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, until the age of 13, Sandy began skiing at approximately four years old in the Laurentians, including at Mont-Tremblant. At 19, she became a ski instructor and taught at Grouse Mountain for two seasons. She also grew up water skiing and fishing in Ontario and later developed a love of salmon fishing after moving to British Columbia.
Boating was an important part of Sandy’s family life, from James Bond-style performance ski boats to 32-foot vessels with an upper bridge. These experiences fostered a lifelong passion for skiing, the outdoors, and the restorative connection between movement, nature, and well-being. They also give her a personal understanding of the physical demands of active living, athletic performance, injury recovery, and the desire to return to the activities that bring meaning and joy.
As an ordained Daoist Priest within the Highest Purity and Celestial Masters traditions, Sandy brings a grounded, deeply present, and energetically attuned approach to her work. Her lineage informs a treatment space that honours both clinical skill and the interconnected nature of body, mind, spirit, and the natural world.
Sandy is known for meeting each patient where they are and developing thoughtful, individualized treatments that support meaningful shifts in health, resilience, mobility, and overall well-being.
