About Shamaine
Seeking support takes courage, and no one should have to navigate life's challenges alone.
Shamaine is a Licensed Counselling Therapist – Candidate with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. As an African-American immigrant, she brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work. She understands firsthand how identity, culture, race, migration, and belonging can shape the way we experience the world, navigate relationships, and respond to life's challenges.
Shamaine creates a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients can show up as their authentic selves. She supports individuals facing anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, and questions surrounding identity and belonging. Her approach is client-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, grounded in the belief that clients are the experts in their own lives.
By integrating evidence-based and experiential practices with genuine empathy and cultural humility, Shamaine fosters a therapeutic relationship that supports healing, growth, and resilience. She welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and is committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Together, Shamaine works alongside clients to deepen self-understanding, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.
