About Shaniah
Shaniah is a neurodivergent trauma-informed psychotherapist specializing in helping humans move from exhausted functioning into integrated power. She works with neurodivergent and neurotypical adults (individuals and couples) navigating the complexities of modern life: from nervous system dysregulation and trauma recovery to life transitions, child-free living, religious deconstruction, spiritual integration, identity work, and relational healing.
Her approach is deeply integrative and goal-oriented. She blends top-down modalities (CBT, Motivational Interviewing) with bottom-up therapies (IFS, Somatic therapy, EFT, AEDP), tailoring her interventions to how each client's brain naturally works and what their life actually needs. This means flexibility: sometimes more experiential work, sometimes practical assignments between sessions, sometimes humor, sometimes deep, witchy spiritual exploration, whatever serves the healing. She aims to meet clients exactly where they are, unafraid of complexity or big emotions.
As a queer, disabled, person of colour herself, Shaniah is LGBTQ+ affirming, disability-conscious, neurodivergent-friendly, and attuned to the impacts of culture, identity, migration, and systemic oppression on mental health and wellbeing. She brings warmth, humor, creative depth and deep curiosity to her work.
Her philosophy is simple: true transformation emerges when we have the space and safety to explore all of who we are. She views humans as a mind-body-spirit system and believes in our innate capacity to heal. Her goal is to provide a safe, attuned presence where corrective emotional experiences become possible, creating the conditions for brain-change and healing. Shaniah's role in therapy is to be the compassionate, competent guide while you remain the expert on your own life.
