Prior to becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, she worked for over ten years as a Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist Assistant, giving her a strong understanding of rehabilitation, movement, and client-centred care.
Shelly provides evidence-informed therapeutic massage tailored to each individual's goals. She treats a wide range of conditions including neck and back pain, headaches, shoulder injuries, repetitive strain injuries, sports injuries, chronic pain, stress-related muscle tension, and postural dysfunction. She also has extensive experience treating Veterans with complex musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain, and PTSD. Her treatment approach focuses on reducing pain, improving mobility and function, and creating a safe, therapeutic environment that promotes relaxation and supports overall physical and mental well-being.
Her treatments may incorporate deep tissue massage, myofascial techniques, trigger point therapy, cupping, and individualized home care recommendations when appropriate.
Shelly is passionate about continuing education and has completed additional training in cupping therapy, prenatal massage, advanced shoulder treatment, and deep tissue myofascial techniques. She enjoys combining her rehabilitation background with massage therapy to help clients reduce pain, restore movement, and return to the activities they enjoy.
Shelly believes in building strong therapeutic relationships and empowering clients through education, individualized treatment plans, and collaborative care to help them achieve their health and wellness goals.
Outside of the clinic, Shelly enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, and exploring the outdoors through hiking and kayaking. She also loves travelling and discovering new places, whether it's a weekend road trip or a new adventure.
