Have you been carrying something heavy for a long time such as a grief that hasn't had a place to land, trauma that shows up in your body before you can even name it? Or maybe something has shifted in your relationship, and you and your partner keep arriving at the same painful place without knowing how to find your way out. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience helping people heal. I work with trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, phobias, and couples who want to improve their relationship. In our sessions, we slow down and pay attention to what is happening right now in your body and in your feelings and the patterns that keep showing up. We don’t just talk about the past. We work with what is showing up today. In addition, I am trained in EMDR to help with trauma, anxiety disorders, and phobias. EMDR works with the brain and body to help release painful memories and feelings that are stuck. Rather than just talking about your experience, I invite you to actually make contact with it while processing at the level of memory and the nervous system and not just insight. For couples, I am a Gottman-trained therapist (Level 1 and 2) offering sessions in Belleville for partners who want to rebuild trust, improve communication, or find their way back to each other. This 100-minute extended session is designed specifically for clients who have already completed initial sessions with their therapist and have collaboratively decided to proceed with EMDR in a double-session format.
