About Stephen
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with dual Master’s degrees — one in Psychology and another in Life Science — bringing years of experience in supporting clients through a wide range of emotional, relational, and life challenges. I combines scientific understanding with a compassionate, person-centred approach to help clients manage stress, trauma, anxiety, and personal growth.
My practice is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed, drawing on multiple evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies to promote healing and lasting change in one's self and body.
I work with clients of all backgrounds and identities, fostering an inclusive and affirming space to explore experiences, build resilience, and create meaningful transformation. I believes therapy is a collaborative process that helps people reconnect with their strengths, deepen self-understanding, and move toward more authentic, fulfilling lives.
Outside of counselling, I stay active through hockey, teaching spin classes, and calisthenic weight lifting. I also love starting my mornings with a walk to the dog park with my dog, Miss Lady, coffee in hand. These routines keep me grounded and energized—qualities I bring into my work with clients. I am also currently writing my dissertation for my Doctorate in Counselling Psychology (PsyD), which continues to deepen and inform my clinical approach.
